help HOW earn $ at Next Adventure Summer Splash

Next Adventure is having their demo day Summer Splash on May 30. For those unfamiliar, NA drags their armada of kayaks to Sellwood Riverfront Park and throngs of folks show up and take them for a spin. Next Adventure loves our Heroes On the Water volunteers because we can estimate what size paddle a person might need and we are experts at cinching up PFDs etc. So for every 8 volunteer hours we can log at the event Next Adventure has generously offered to donate $100 to our HOW chapter!

This event is always crazy busy and we can get credit for as many people that show up on our behalf and are ready to lug some kayaks around. We'll also have an informational booth there, so if you don't want to get PHYSICAL then you can staff the booth while we are launching and landing folks. Fun starts at 09:00!

This is coming right up and wanted to give it a bump. We had a few chime in through the shop and a couple on Facebook, but like I was saying we earn cash for EVERYONE that shows up to help on our behalf. The more the merrier.

Sounds like Next Adventure is going to start packing up at 5:00. I'm planning on packing up some dinner and a few cold ones in the AM before heading out to Sellwood. After the festivities and we get the kayaks back on the trailers I'm going to take a run up to O.C. to nab some shad and have dinner otw. If you help out with Summer Splash and want to come up to Oregon City afterwards let me know your coming and I'll drop a couple of chilly ones in the cooler for you.

I was up at OC yesterday and watched two salmon  find their way to the back of a boat.  Plenty of things to fish for.
I have volunteered at the Splash in the past. It is a kick. Where else do you get to talk about the stuff you love to do. To an audience willing to listen.  Come on out and lend us a hand.

As anyone that's worked with/alongside next in the past knows there will be plenty of cold ones available and I always place that priority among my fellow anglers. Hope to see y'all on Saturday!

If displaying a cooler full of beer in my tankwell doesn't get people into the sport I don't know what does.

I might be able to make it.  I will probably have my son in tow with me.  I don't think I have enough knowledge about kayaking yet to be able to answer questions but I have a strong back and willing to do physical labor.

Lots of paddle craft out here today!

I wished i had NWKA or Next Adventure t-shirts for me and my kids.  Every time we would ask some one if we could carry their boat for them they just kind of looked at us strangely and i would have to tell them that we were volunteers for the event to schlep boats.
