Here's a picture and article about a fisherman who got dragged underwater after a sea lion lunged out of the water to grab a fish he was holding, and grabbed his hand as well.  If this could happen to a guy in  29 foot motorboat, it could certainly happen to a kayak fisherman.

Good reason to wait to show off your fish until you get back to shore.  Were you trying to catch a seal in your NWKA avatar?

If sea lions and seals make it up to Lindbergh Lake in Montana's Swan drainage, where my avatar picture was taken, we will REALLY have a pinniped problem.

We could always start relocating them there for ya Pete, don't want you feeling left out ;)

I like Pete's idea.  As long as the bears are released below Bonneville, and preferably close to Astoria.   

With the smorgasbord available to them, they shouldn't have much trouble adapting to the new menu.
