Quick Clarification on a rule ("All entries must be caught without aid from anyone else"), does this include netting? I'm thinking of bring the GF out, thinking she would appreciate a hand netting.

Do we need to register or check in with anyone prior to start of tourney?

According to the rules... No help at all during hooking, fighting, landing and that includes netting.  Once it's in the yak...you have possession of the fish and you can get all the help you want.  But you must fight and land it all alone.

Ok.  Took Friday and Monday off.  Ready to rock.  Bought a new harpoon tip that is the right size.  Bought an artificial lure that I think will work well for the big ones.

C'mon Saturday!!!!!

You should take Barbie out too, Rudy...  Catch your trophy with yer big stick  and then show that girl a good time again!   8)

Junk Jigs "BEST USE OF ACTUAL JUNK" category - "That tape should have been a prized possession and not junk. That will be a collectors item in 30 years!” & “There sure is a lot of junk in there.”

I was seriously considering using it.  Rather than first or last, I thought I'd use it when fishing under 40 ft.  I am going to try and pull out all of the stops as I usually do when I get serious fishing.  A few of the techniques will require the use of my big stick.  Like pulling this around as just one example.

I also have a plan to avoid getting spooled like last time in case something like that does happen while using something like Barbie.  Don't know if I will be using her again.

Suppose the longest fish caught is a king?

Halibut only. Didn't want to make  people wait on their kings to what could the last days of the season being open. When you can only keep two.
