Heading out tomorrow to try my luck at some Salmon and Sturgeon. Hoping to get my buddy Ralph to go with, but i'm gonna go by myself if i have to.According to ODFW a few Chinook have been caught around Rocky Point boat launch on the Coquile river. Reconed it today, it's a nice spot and if nothing else will be a fun pedal. If you don't get a post from me by tomorrow night send out the search party.

I have had good luck in the past near Rocky Point! There are 3 good holes there. I am building a house up the river so I drive  by there everyday and have not seen a lot of people there yet! What time are you headed out??? I was going to go there on Saturday but maybe I will meet up with you tomorrow. I was in Port Orford last weekend fishing the salt. It was perfect weather, but the fishing was slow. I still caught my limit but had to really work for it. Zac

Hey Zac, I'll be at the boat ramp at about 11:00 AM. Gonna work the incoming tide up for a while and then get pulled back out by the outgoing. I saw a couple boats at that big bend  just east of the ramp today, nobody was pulling out of the water for a report though.

Glad you had some luck in Port Orford, I fished 4 days and caught two blacks..  Monday-tuesday is looking good for the ocean. Most likely will be fishing with Bsteves and Zeelander on Monday at Sunset, can you make it up? Team Roy and I'm sure Ralph will be going too. I will be out there no matter what.I think tuesday i am gonna try out the bay mouth in the ocean again

Fished here with Zac and after a couple of hours his first mate after a half hour detour to turn around to go back home and get my Mirage drive that i left hanging in the closet  :-[ .I really need to print out a Kayak list every time.

No Salmon or Sturgeon caught. The crabs and bullheads(real bullheads, not catfish) were thick and chomped any bait we put down there. Her's a nice pic of Zac and his first mate..IE son, Ethan? i think, I'm bad remembering names.

Can't wait to catch a Salmon...

I think my son has had better luck this year with his spider man fishing pole then me. He loves to hang out in the back of the yak and fish with me. Don't know what I would have done that day if I had hooked into a big sturgeon. It would have been fun.
