I was just thinking. I picked up a proxy today and with one. You can keep a king and stay inside one mile "to catch your other" King and hook up butts. I think that's legal.  Now ya keep two kings. You gotta go out a mile!!

Not everybody is as lucky as you and all your proxies Mr. 3peat.   I'll worry about the 1 mile rule when I catch #1 king
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Kings are gone...hopefully temporarily.  I tried several hours the past two weekend and got one takedown.  I am going to switch from my herring/hooligan baits to sandlance imitations now I think.

I'd rather not target the spawners but given the much better return and maybe the feeders will hit spinners, I may give them a go.  WHiskey Gulch can be great for the spawner kings.  Basically every king North of Anchor Point will travel through that area.  So in teh couple of hundred yard sgtretch of water, you have several dozen streams worth of kings passing by every day.

I am DESPERATE for my June king. I do NOT want to try the Ship Creek thing but its looking like a possibility.  Outside the Homer lagoon is looking like a possibility.  If the weather is bad, I may try Whittier.  Just posted about that.  Kings are gone from WG and Lower Cook Inlet according to my intel, but as they switch back towards sandlances away from herring and hooligan, they should be back around at some point.

Sooo...I was fortunate enough to limit out on kings this year, plus a proxy.  Thinking about the regulation when you fish below the "marker" and limit raised to 3 kings per person.  I really don't need any more kings but I would like to catch and release...kinda miss fighting them.  Is the 3 king limit correct in homer?

I'll have to put up a disclaimer to re-check the Homer rules, but I recall south of bluff point as being a 2 per day two in possession area, with a limit of 5 per year.  Emergency orders for kings have been issued.   (Oct. 1 to March 31 winter kings not included in the 5).

ALSO  as a flash for all of those looking at fishing further north at WG this weekend be aware that ADF&G has eased the in-river restrictions by emergency order today.   Don't celebrate - the two king limit for marine waters offshore south of Ninilchik R. to the latitude of Bluff Point (59° 40.00' N. lat.) remains in effect.  (Emergency order 2/19/2015)

Best to read todays release for yourself ...

The second paragraph is interesting - it opens all salt waters in that area after July 1, but then keeps the annual  bag limit... good news on escapement numbers though!
