Looking for a poor mans yak

Wanting to buy a kayak.  Not much spare cash to play with so the cheaper the better.   

Let me know what you got in the $300 and under range.  Primary use will be fishing in ponds and lakes with the occasional venture into a river or calm sea.

Costco has a $349 10' 31" wide kayak with 275# capacity. Maybe someone on the forum has experience with this one. Includes a paddle too:

If i cannot find a used one I plan on getting the angling version of the Tamarack in July.   Just in time for the Sunset Bay ATOD.

You know what you're doing?  You have all the gear and paraphernalia you need to be safe at Sunset Bay?

Look at Wal-Mart and at Bi-Mart up in Coos Bay.  Wal-Mart had Sun Dolphin kayaks last year; if they have them again this year, they aren't a hull you'll have the rest of your life, but they're solidly built and glide well.  Don't know the brand at Bi-Mart.

There's a large second-hand store in Coquille that had 2 kayaks last Spring, a yellow touring hull and a blue SOT that were close to your price range and looked to be in good shape.

I am missing a flag ($12) and I have a line on a fat boy sized wetsuit for under 50 bucks.  Rest of the safety gear I have on hand.   Been using my chest waders in the fresh water with no problems so far.

Bi Mart sells Lifetime brand kayaks (I work for them).   The store I work in is getting the Tamarack angling kayaks any day now.   I am a cheap bastard by nature so I always look for used gear before I buy new. 

Check out the Pompano 120 from West Marine. It is a quality kayak that is made by Perception and marketed under the West Marine brand. I have owned this kayak and was nothing but happy with it. It would be very difficult to find a better quality kayak for under $500.  Just my two cents.
