BRBs!
I use 9/0,10/0 and 12/0. They don't make a 16/0 BRB. There is no way you are going to straighten them from a kayak! We can only exert about 15#s of drag, that isn't even stressing the hook.  I have a guide friend that uses BRBs when targeting large halibut and all the gear he runs is focused on making sure he can land every big fish he hooks.
I am with Rudy, I snell my hooks to 150 or 200 mono because I don't have as much confidence in crimps.

I've never really had any problem with circles hooks, but also use j hooks.  If I'm using big chunks of salmon belly, I reach for big ol' circle hooks because that's what I got.  I wish I could find a smaller gauge 16/0 circle,  and I don't like going smaller than that.  I mean, think about it, that gap needs to be able to fit around the corner of the jaw, so you need a big gap.  If I'm using smaller herring, I match the hook size to the bait, and run j hooks as 16/0 circles are too big for all but the largest horse herring.

Found these Owners at Bass Pro today, kinda right in between a circle and J hook...they come with a $15 price tag though

I don't see what you mean between right in between a circle and a J.  The Owners are definitely a J and the Gami's are definitely a circle.

BTW, what is the gap distance (tip of point to the shank) on those Gami 10/0 circles?

They are very similar to the big rivers just a little more inward curve at the tip and thicker.  I just grabbed the closest size of circle hook to have a comparison in the picture. I'd never think of buying a 3 pack of hooks for $15 though!

FWIW, the gap on a Mustad 39960 16/0 circle is 3/4".  And they run ~$5 for a pack of 2.

What knot do you tie to the swivel?

It is kinda a modified San Diego jam knot or modified Berkley Braid knot.
Basically a BBK that isn't doubled up or SDJK that doesn't go back through the top.

Improved clinch. Only because I've been trying it for forty years and it's worked.
