I will likely fish Sunday at WG. Will likely try the Kenai for dipnetting or maybe kings on Saturday. This is based on current weather. I think it'll be fishable but marginal with surf on Saturday.  If anyone hears down early, please post conditions. .
Style points Rudy if you dipnet from the kayak! Kachemak bay great conditions if anyone was curious....see everyone Sunday
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

Kenai R. bank fishing - SLOW.   Lost a few before I realized I had a hardware issue.... see pic.   Must have broke the full point off square.  DOH.   Fishing on credit.

With some effort and time you can take a limit from the bank, but folks are lining up pretty tight considering the counts weren't over 20K yet.

Dippers getting active but not big hauls yet as of Friday - saw a swimmer with dry suit and fins swimming his net along.   I dont see doing that, nor dipping from my Kayak.   Though maybe rigging a big full size net between two kayaks might work at high tide.... hmmm.   Hate to get the net bag in my drive though.

Still hoping to make WG by AM Sunday.

Pretty hard to land a fish with a busted off hook. Have fun....
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Pretty slow dipping. 9am to 2pm ish. Maybe 40 fish running two nets. Not bad for scratch fishing. Not sure when I'll head down. Definitely will try Sunday.

Anyone fishing??

I am here,I have gotten up the nerve to fight the surf and wind. Still pretty rough here, but I am going to try tomorrow.

6' wind blown waves, making it all but impossible to even fish from the beach. Kayak isn't even an option at WG right now.

6/17 - Missed the boat on dipping from a boat.  Got late to the party and decided to try my luck at north shore dipping.  There were crazy...ahem..brave individuals who persevered monster waves (5-6ft) for some red fillets.  I just sat there and entertained myself until 6:38 pm slack tide/outgoing tide.  Caught 40 fish, threw back bunch of small ones.  No one was catching unless you did the conga line drift style.  Dame those pesky seagulls (almost 2/3 of my fish is missing an eye).
Peeps on the boat caught 17.  I think I got this technique dialed in...6 years in a roll.

6/18 - two other groups of friends reporting in: 84 and 110.
I guess the wall of fish is finally pushing through. Met up with my sport fishing buddies in Soldotna.  They weren't catching shit so they helped me process my catch.  Life is good.

Just arrived home.  Relaxing and chilling and vacuum sealing.

WG update,
Finally got the Hobie off the beach, water is still rough and I had to spend more time keeping the boat in position for the next wave than fishing.  If this wind will die down just a little more it will be fishable.

Ron and I are here. Looks like water  is starting to lay down.   Hoping to fish tomorrow. Is tournament still on or has it been postponed for another day?  Only 3 of us here now?
