I don't have credentials for a forum like this, I'm a lousy fisherman but I do try sometimes.  I'm also not a great kayaker having only had an inflatable Aire Tributary tandem but I bought a deeply discounted '14 Hobie Outback last year and like it a lot.  It goes pretty well on the Columbia especially with the turbo fins that I recently added.  It was probably discounted because of the updated '15 design with the better seat.  I didn't like the stock seat at all and tried the Browning seat without cutting it down - that was too tall but a bleacher seat from BiMart is the right height and comfortable.  I like it enough that I am looking for an inflatable Hobie I-12 if I can find it for anywhere close to what I paid for the Outback.

No credentials needed, welcome aboard! Sounds like you've got your '14 Outback dialed in for comfort - that's a great way to go to get into a mirage-drive kayak less expensively.

What do you like to fish for?

On the Columbia I've never actually landed anything on several outings.  On Lewis river lakes I have caught kokanee, pretty decent trout at Lake Wenatchee.  I fish mostly just to get out but if someday I catch a salmon that would be a plus.  I've been told that wrapped flatfish lures are good so I might give that a try this weekend.  I usually only take one or two lures with me and putt around.  Sometimes I just go out with my dogs and don't try fishing then.

The Hobie with the standard old style seat wasn't great, the stadium seat was a huge improvement for me.
