Has anyone ever launched out of the Pacific Beach area?  I am going there for a quick vacation this weekend and wondering if it is worth taking my AI with me.  Suggestions on where to launch/fish and things to look out for would be appreciated.  I will there Sunday - Wednesday if anyone is going to be in the area.

Went out of Pacific Beach the other day.  didn't get any fish for the effort but thought I would report back with what it was like to launch from there.  launch site was great as it was a drive on beach.  The launch and return were harrowing.  If I hadn't been in my TI, I don't think that i could even have made it out or back without turtling in both directions.  We saw a kayaker on the way out that got dumped twice before giving up as they chased the yak down.  The amas saved the day for sure and really enjoyed having the sail to make good progress up and down the coast line.  We should have place to post information on launch sites by state.  Really wish that Quinault tribe would allow access to their sheltered beaches as launching would have been much easier.
