Tillamook bay Sunday August 2nd 7:30 drop in.

Taking Pinstriper into the bay for some salt introduction 7:30 am drop in behind the fish cleaning station. Open invite for experienced salts or saltines. Dropping my crab pot if anyone wants to try pulling it for the first time come on out and give it a go. Targeting rockfish on the south wall. I will post up some pictures of what works well in a day or so. Any questions feel free to shoot me a pm. With water temps pushing 60 degrees don't expect a wild bite and dry/wet  suits aren't required just use your noodle and please be able to climb back on board or we can practice before hand.

I'm trying to get a kayak blockade going to keep the adult male Dungeness crabs from leaving the Tillamook bay. Anyone needing bait that will be  joining us please let me know I have chicken and fish carcasses that I will be pulling out of the deep freeze. Still a 7:30 drop in behind the fish cleaning station.
PS we really need to get a blockade going for the fall salmon as well thanks for helping the cause " project seafood in da freezer"

I can't muck it on Sunday but if anyone is on the fence about joining, I would like to report that I got a limit of crab pretty easy out there in Tilly Muck Bay yesterday so the crabbing is good. I was mucking around on the south wall for the crab and the little bay crappie were biting real well there too.
Very nice of Shannon to send out these open invites. Mucky as it may be, his home is my favorite local bay for crab/fishing double-headers.

Hit Nehalem Bay today and salmon fished out by the jaws. Crabbing was not as good and heavily carpet-bombed. Only got 8. Saw one fish caught and heard of maybe 5 others, so kinda slow.

I'm just grateful Shannon is so willing to give me the fishing lesson and be my chaperone for my first bay trip.

I might be able to be persuaded to hang over the side of the bridge on the skippanon, but no way am I hanging over the side of the Astoria Bridge.

Had a great time today 4 out all limits of rocks some in the 12-14 inch range and on crab kept sorry forgot to take a picture of the crab. Pinstriper did great even though we had a head wind to paddle threw all the way out and he managed 2- triple hookups. Thanks to Lawyerbob + guest and Pinstriper for joining me today, look forward to the next trip.

+1  During the Tillamook May Day tournament, when I wasn't trolling for "salmon" or pulling crab pots, I was using the barbie pole and caught a handful of jetty rockfish - was a lot of fun!

I had a size 4 crappies rig with a third 1/4 jig in the bottom. The triples bent my 5.5' medium bass rod tip to the water and was a howling good time as it was.

Shannon said something about getting a greenling early on but I did not attend to what he was saying as I was learning how to not drift into the wall.

No lingcod just a 12 inch greenling that I sent back down.

What's this week looking like for some T Muck action?   

I'd be game for some mini rockfish slaying with my Frozen kiddie pole.
