How ya'll are?!,
I have been wanting to learn how you are tying up the terminal tackle for salmon. I have been a lure for trout man most of my life and not sure what is meant when said "mooching rig". And how do you salmon fish with a bobber ? I hear some are being caught this way as well in my local river. Any drawings or pics would help me the most. ( not that good at cypherin' explanations)
 Thanks

Up here, mooching is usually done with cutplug herring, but it can be done with other baits, too, often with a rotating bait holder. Check otu this tutorial. from Salmon U.  http://www.salmonuniversity.com/ol_htrh_pc1_index.html

The rig is very simple, just a mooching weight with a singe or double hook tie on a 5-7' leader. (Doubles are most common.)

River bobber fishing for salmon is probably using bait (eggs, prawns or ghostshrimp), or a jig under a bobber. There are regional and personal preferences for types of bobbers- fixed or sliding, foam or cork, etc. Sorry, no drawings here. If you have a library near by, check for STS magazine. (Salmon/Trout/Steelheader) You'll find lot's of info.

Good Luck!

Here is a nice site for terminal rigging.  Pictures and all..  I just vary the hook spacing and leader length to suit the herring size.

Thanks guys!
 Now I have a clue.
Very nice website for the ignorant fisherman.
Big fish are in the Chetco allready, waiting for some rain. Friends caught a 38# and a 42# from the bank on Teu.
