Well, called and found out that they do have a local retail presence with 3 instock of both the 11s and the 13s. You only save $20 by picking up in store and no demos are available at their location. So, FYI in case anybody was currently looking. Being in Salem, typically we head up the cascades and hit up a lot of the lakes, plus we have the willamette in our backyard. Also, I have family out of Depoe Bay and have gone out of there a number of times in skiffs of various sizes, including many a time in little 12 footers, so this should be no different. I've been eyeballing getting into this for quite some time and my buddies are now all pumped up too, so it should be fun. I didn't mention anything about NWKA and it sounds like Brian is the man to go through so I'll PM him. I'll report here on what we end up doing.

For Depoe Bay and fishing the Pacific and the bigger, windier Cascade lakes, I'd really think hard about a bigger boat than the Trident 11.  I'm sure it would be awesome for smaller Cascade lakes and the Willamette, but if the weather turns sporty a couple miles out from Depoe on an outgoing tide, the Trident 13 (or 15) will start looking mighty nice.  You don't really give up much for the extra length, as they all weigh about the same.

Now if only I could come up with a convincing argument for the wife as to why I need to add a Trident 15 or Hobie Revolution to the fleet...
