Would any of you veteren Bouy 10 kayak fishers be willing to post a map showing where you launch for those of us who are new to this fishery? Apologies in advance if this has been covered a hundred times before.

The shipwreck map is in the Knapton thread.

There are a lot of others but they're all hard won with time and exploration.  Those of us that have found them don't like spoon feeding every lurker on the internet.  Go find em.  They're hiding in plain sight.  ;D

Yeah, I'm quite sure that Spot, of all people, was not being rude to CRB in any way.As I read this, there were 8 guests reading it also. All fine people and fisherman I'm sure,  but some of these spots may only accommodate 4 cars....hate to see 8 new cars jockeying for a little wide spot in the road.
I learned after attending salmon seminars by Mark, Nate, Jeff that specific launch coordinates were not the main topic. (But, man, I sure learned a lot about techniques).
Anyway, yeah , a little research and exploration gets ya in the ballpark.

Ding, Ding, Ding!!! We have a winner!

Redbeard knows how to use the PM button.

But seriously, there is a lot of joy to be had in figuring out a fishery.  I've spent many days both online and in my car searching for useable launch sites all over the state.  I've shared some of the best ones online, others with regular yak fishing buddies and some I've kept to myslef.  Eventually, they'll all be discovered.

I'm a little late on the report but here goes....

Man! What a great day on the water! Since my son showed up last year I've only made it onto the water a handful of times. I also realized that I hadn't actually caught a salmon since 2012, so i figured I was more than a little due. That salmon had actually been caught at the shipwreck jigging a super old herring after my knee started to hurt. I was barely even fishing truth be told. I was just bouncing it on the bottom hoping to catch something....while I checked my facebook page :) I was shocked when a 22 lb URB slammed the crap out of it. Anyway, on that day there was a ton of bait in the water and I figured that fish was charging through the bait balls looking for wounded bait. I had wanted to try it again on a day when there was a lot of bait in the water. So I decided to wait three years and give it a go on Sunday!

First off, the company on Sunday was spectacular. Wobbler, ndogg, Craig, Langcod, Sherman, Jeff, and even his lovely wife Amanda. Great time on the water with great people. Oh, the fishing wasn't half bad either. I rigged up my salmon rod for trolling and my bottom fishing rig for mooching. Not long into trolling I started to mark bait just off the bottom in 45-50 feet of water. Too deep to hit while on the troll, so I whipped out the jigging rod, dropped an anchovy down to the bottom, gave it a couple of cranks to get it off the bottom and picked up my first coho of the day almost immediately. Stoked to have salmon blood on the boat again I got back to fishing. All the boats in the area made it difficult to mooch so I went back to trolling. Worked another hour or so before I get my second coho of the day. A feisty fish that put on a nice aerial display for the many boats close by. A limit!

I'm not a fan of selfies but when you've limited out and everyone else is still on the water you have little choice!

   Indeed ------- awesome report Noah.

Come on out again for a repeat this Saturday. We can invade the north side this time.

Shannon--- now that you finally have a salmon tag--- come join the fun. I can bring a 2nd Outback if you want to give one a try....

Saturday August 8th at the "Shipwreck" right about daylight to work the last of an incoming tide for a couple of hours and a bit of the outflow.

Oh ---and there is room for more than 4 vehicles. Just sayin'...
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Went out today out of the Hammond basin area. Fishing was a little slower than it was on Sunday. Managed to pick up a keeper Coho and played with a couple of natives. It was a very slow start. Nothing for two hours on the water.

I switched out the herring and moved the line to the medium spin hole. Then it was game on. Be careful of the current and use the tide to your advantage. Makes for an awesome day.
