Was going through and replacing most of the bungee cords on a used Prowler 15 I bought a couple of years ago.  Several of the cut ends at one time had something like Marine Goop dabbed on the ends while other looked like they tried to melt the ends.  A few ends just had knots tied to keep them from unraveling.     I decided to use some Marine Heat Shrink Tubing to clean up the ends in a fashion much like shoe laces.   The inside of this type of heat shrink has an adhesive coating inside that melts when heated up then hardens when it cools down.  While this is designed to seal electrical splices,  this adhesive also really grips the bungee cord and I don't see it coming off any time soon.

Sorry if this is an already well known trick but I searched and did not find anything.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Where'd you find that heat shrink at?  I usually just melt mine.  Now you need to take some acetone and wipe off the white lettering and make it look even more professional.

I know Harbor freight was marine heat shrink.  Also most performance car shops use it also.
I love heat shrink.  I use it all the time for a lot of thing but need to get a real hot air gun.  Dannybay doesn't think I need one but I'll sneak one in soon.  Winter is coming and water gets a little rougher so time to get things sealed up!

I've never tried the marine HST. Always used the regular stuff and it works great. Going to have to try it with the goo inside.

dandj1958 is right and that is where I picked it up from.  You get a pretty good supply of various sizes for $6

For corrosion / water proof electrical splices as we often do for our Kayak electronics,   it can't be beat.

I love it! I too am going to steal this idea. Now I can buy something else from HF other than inexpensive zip ties and sandpaper.

That is brilliant.  I'm afraid to go into Harbor Freight for fear of all the cheap tools I might buy, but I'll have to risk it!
