Better pictures to come, jay got stuck with the reality called work so I threw TLW's propel on the Subaru and shot down to Wheeler to hook up with Minnowmagnet around 12:30 noon in an inbound tide. Launched and headed towards the tide and the jaws running a 6 ounces behind a flasher and herring with a dicks sure spin helmet on got down by the storage units and bendo. First salmon from a kayak and it wasn't even the Big Tuna that got bloody, wouldn't have been possible without Minnowmagnet I was totally running his rig I was set for spoons and got a couple bumps but nothing hard. Brian can tell you about his day.... And after a dock break to ice the fish we trolled back out and the number of boats in the same spot I hooked up doubled, go figure.

Well ----- it's about time. Seriously glad you finally hooked-up--way to go..

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Nice going Shanon! I'm also considering Wheeler this Sunday.

I expect to have my dry suit and VHF radio by then--they'll need to be introduced to the salt. (=

yes it was an awesome day!
Here is my report: Fished the jaws of Nehalem Bay yesterday morning through the tide exchange. Saw quite a few silvers caught out there and a couple of nice chinook. I landed a native silver and took the hook 3/4" past the barb into my thumb while releasing. A dude in a nearby boat punched it through the other side while I screamed. He then poured a couple shots of Fireball down my throat and I calmed down. I kept at it and got no more fish, but I mustered together a limit of crabs by the afternoon.
Today the fish-gods granted me retribution with a nice modest chinook.
