Tillamook bay pre dawn launch report

Planning a bay trip Saturday the 12th 7:12 am low tide so on the water around 6:00 pre light so bring a light or catch up on the water. Targeting crabs and south wall black rocks might troll for salmon as well haven't decided yet. Open invite as usual just plan on having fun.

Definitely going to be there.  Supposably weather should be great too.  Come on out before the fall rain everyone!!

Would like to make it, but would probably arrive well after 6 a.m. What kind of tackle and bait/lure are you guys using for the black rockfish on the south wall?

For seabass, I usually use a 7' ultra light rod with 3/8 to 1/2 jighead with a Zoom fluke: Baby Bass Minnow or a Berkley Gulp Minnow around 4 inches.

I might join you guys hearing the salmon reports there! Bring my trolling rod and a light rod for bottom fish if im not getting any action or if I limit out Ill let you know for sure tomorrow mojo!

Rough game plan if anyone else cares to join us, 5:30 am park and rig 6:00 or slightly before light and launch, 6:30-7:00 am drop crab traps and fish the last of the outbound tide for rock fish and maybe an hour of the inbound 8:00ish am pull pots and troll the incoming tide till you got rubber arms/legs, sometime around mid day go home with fish. Just an idea not set in stone.

Looking forward to hearing the glowing report. I had to be in on a couple of business calls this morning.

Ok since Fishboy wants to be the glowboy here it comes........ Great launch little later then expected dropped 3 crab pots and 3 of us limited on rockfish. Snamighty got 6 crabs I had all undersized. Trolled to the ghost hole and trolled that till it hurt on the way back to land I had my rod bury into my head,  that's a snag , turned to the left to clear it and my drag started flying...... Oh fish on!!!! It spun me around to the left and started dragging me to bay city and my net was on snamighty's boat and he's around the corner on a beach break..... Great, jsmccormick was on my side checking the shore for a leak so I hollered at him fish on no net, damn he can launch in a hurry ...thank god.  He trolled up on my left and after a few jumps netted a beautiful coho with an UGLY FIN TOO CLOSE TO ITS TAIL......... Native sent it back home. Thanks guys it was an awesome time. Snamighty really handled it like he's been out here for a year or more and went the distance ,pulled two pots on his own. But I get to try for VENGANCE tomorrow on my buddy's PB.

Don't tell anyone Hugh but I prefer rockfish and my wife can't even stand the smell when I'm cooking it. Shhhh we did ok the night is early and red hot were hitting it again tomorrow. Who was on the yak in the jetty hog line thought it was you till you said it wasn't.
