Chris asked for it! I wasn't going to post it but here it is. Kind of funny. You can see how excited I was and showing it off to the boats lol Launche just inside those pilings and pulling my line out so you can tell how quick it was. Hope you enjoy!

That was awesome!  Your stoke is palpable and that fish is a pig.
Thanks for bringing us along.

Thanks for sharing.  Looked like a pretty fast troll, but maybe that's just the camera wide angle.

Fantastic! Very nice job and sweet fish. Love watching your expressions throughout. You may want to consider a game clip ASAP while still in the net. Great job man!

That was exciting!Nice fish for sure. Did you think the length of the rod was an issue during the netting?

Thanks everyone! I don't think the rod length made it harder but I could have shortened up my rig maybe? You would lose action in the rod if you went shorter I would think.

Jammer is right, I once lost a ling because I didn't get it on the stringer quickly.  It was no big deal because I got a bigger one as a replacement.  But I would never want to take the risk you did and chance loosing a salmon.

I just mentioned that because I've got a picture of me a few years ago gripping the rod two feet or so above the reel trying to lip-grip a salmon. Probably not a recommended method. I just have 7-8' rods now for kayak salmon fishing and keep the rigs a bit shorter than those fishing from boats.

yea ill game clip it in the net lol. seems like it would be smarter than potentially having it shake out of my hands lol. then it would have been a epic fail video lol
