Headed out first thing this morning with the outgoing tide. Dropped a trap and absolutely hammered rockfish for awhile at the south jetty. When the tide started to slacken and change I, cruised over to the north corner (near entrance to Barview J. Campground) and started fishing for the real deal. Within about 20 minutes or so of trolling I watched my rod twitch and jerk and finally buckle and had a nice wild chinook on the line. Fighting these fish is so much fun! Anyway, it went well, although the fish broke my bonker with its head, but that was okay. After that, I cruised back to grab the trap and peddled back with the fresh incoming to get the fish into my cooler in Garibaldi.
Quick turnaround to leave a fish and the stupid crabbing gear in the car and grab more refreshments and I shot over to the Ghost Hole to exploit the incoming tide and get another fish. This time, I only got into my troll for about 5 minutes until the old jerk, jerk, rod-buckle and line peel started. Fighting these fish is so much fun! A nice hatchery buck was so nice to bite that I dispatched it compassionately and mercifully with my broken fish bonker.
I just love Tillamook Bay!
Also, for the right to boast my success, I would like to share that most boats I spoke with had fish too so go get them. Now is real good.
I was using a Sure Spin rig for green-label behind a chartreuse flasher.
And thanks as always to this forum for all the inspiration, motivation and information.

Snopro, I spoke with a couple folks that hooked coho yesterday. You would think that you would see some rolling if they were inside in numbers but I didn't. I believe this weekend is non-selective in T-bay for them. Wish I could be there
