Hi everyone.

I'm planning on hitting Tillamook bay on Saturday 3rd.  Low tide is around 11am.  Launching around 9ish.  Going to drop off a couple crab traps and hook as many rockfish on the south wall until my arms become flimsy rubber.  Open invite for anyone that wants to come out.

If you are new to that launch site, be advised it is primitive, and the last 20 feet are ankle deep sludge. Not an easy single-person launch, so plan on helping each other get the boats down to the water and back up to the parking lot.

Beyond that, it's a great spot, and free. Definitely make use of the fish cleaning shack.

Anyone know what the pay rate is for the paved ramp on the marina side of that same piece of water ?
Let's eat, Grandma !

Its only 5$ to launch if you have a trailer. Parking for a vehicle without trailer is free. I always launch at the paved site, as I don't like slogging through mud, and You don't have to pay to park a lonely truck. I read every sign everywhere, and talked to owner of the bait shop there, and parking for vehicles without trailers is free :)

Parking is correct, it's not a parking pass for $5 it's a launching fee. And it is also correct you most likely won't get a ticket or even asked. It's an honor system and we have watched boats launch and then run the truck and trailer around the block and park on the street, and when looking in the window low and behold ... No launching fee tag. I prefer the opposite side as it's not that far from the car and you never have to worry about getting ran over by someone with a trailer. Fave it the way some of these guys drive a power boat, I don't want to be anywhere near them with a trailer going backwards.
On another not one of our members is involved with the local government here and was wondering what we can do to assist in getting the city to improve that side and what ideas we can come up with to make launching there better.

No doubt.

The boating certification should have a practical exam.

Dannybay and I usually launch at high tide from the back little " kayak launch" (rocky path to sand) on the bay side but at low time we use the boat launch.   We do pay the launch fee just to keep its upkeep. No car parking needed since we stay at the rv park and walk across.  Good fishing karma we think. Most boaters are real nice. Some are just jerks.
