How do you mount yours? (Pics please!)

I'm looking to add a compass to my kayak (everyone should have one right?) Im going to put it on  GT-90 rails. Surely I'm not the only one to ever mount one to Gear Trax...

I like the Ritchie brand but I am stumped at mounting options for going track mounted. Flush mount (cut a big hole) is obviously out the window, so bracket mount or surface mount options? What method/hardware? I'm thinking the X-10 or Trek would be about perfect. Clearance at the base is my concern for the fasteners.

This is looking like a real good upgrade mount too: http://www.marlinsclocks.com/Marlins-Perch-Clamp--BrakeClutch--Windshield-Motorcycle-Sport-Compass_p_189.html

Moral compass?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Suunto Orca/Pioneer comes with a nice base you screw down, then the rubber base fits over the nubs. It's nice because it's easy to take your compass on and off.

I bought a peel and stick dome compass, I think from ACK. Was inexpensive and looked great, and probably would have worked great if I hadn't misplaced it before getting around to mounting it.

But he's not using a moral compass.

No I roll with screw down base. Didn't even drill a puka with the pretapped rod pod. You can stow it when you have crab pots on deck.

I was wondering how long the "strap on" was going to take before it was the topic of discussion  :D

I prefer this style of compass, which I keep in my PFD, because the mirror makes it easy to shoot bearings, the declination is adjustable, and I can hold it away from anything metal to minimize magnetic interference.

Sorry, no photo, but I mounted my Ritchie on a short wood plate made from 2 paint sticks glued together and painted black. Attach the mount screws on the compass to the stick. The stick extends just beyond the compass. A bolt and wing nut mounts to the track and the stick allows me to swing the compass out of the way. My compass stays below deck unless I need it. Here's a sketch. Sorry for the quality.
