Hi Guys! Looks like salmon is closed, so it it a time to think what to catch next in MA10. I know there are some flounders and sculpins... but I am thinking about some forage fish like herring, sardine, anchovy, mackerel, etc. is is possibly to catch any of them now in MA10? Any tips/tricks on gear/tactics? Thank you in advance! :)

Learn some freshwater fish.  Kokanee are a blast and are great on the table. American Lake is open year round for trout and kokanee.

Forage fish can be readily caught with sabiki rigs, basically a series (approx. 6) of very small lures/flies with hooks with weight on the bottom. To maximize effectiveness look for surfacing bait, diving birds or a fish finder if you have one to find schools of fish. Use a light rod and gently jig up and down to hook them, often times you can catch multiple fish at once.

Trout or Kokanee are good options throughout the winter months as well.

Lake Washington is open for Coho, all those fish that moved thru MA10 and into the Ballard locks are in the lake now. Same general techniques without the wind/chop/currents/tides, try the Hunt's Point and Moss Bay areas.

Get bored with the lake then try the Snoqualmie river by Carnation, mellow flows upstream of Tolt Hill rd launch. Got one there last week but it's still early, with the rain it should get better.

In MA10 the only thing left is sanddabs and surfperch
