I was checking out the Oregon coast beaches looking for different areas one could launch a kayak into the ocean from, and ran across this little waterway (Salmon River).  Not sure that I have ever been near this beach.  Anyone ever been there,  or launch via the river, or the beach for that matter?

On N. Three Rocks Road, there is a launch on the river that bigger boats use.  Head out the river and over the bar.  Use appropriate caution for a shallow bar situation.

Knights Landing is a Lincoln County Park frequented by many yakkers including myself.  Pay attention to the tides and the bar.

Trout and crab are the most frequent fare encountered.  Come salmon season be wary of motorboats and idiots.

The Wife and I paddled out from Knight Park last week, it is a good place to launch and ocean access looks promising, as said check the tides. The day we went we were working against an incoming tide and wind coming up the river, progress was very slow!! Had no luck fishing that day, I've heard that the recent rains are starting to bring in a few fish. On a side note: sometimes people aren't always what they appear-That day we where getting ready to unload and there where 4 guys tearing it up around the launch on PWC, I thought to myself "There goes the neighborhood" then one of the guys pulls in hops off his craft and walks over to my truck an tells me how much he loves these Ocean Kayaks! He then proceeds to help me unload em off the top of our 1 ton Chevy Pickup, very nice of him, and a big help as my wife is only 4'9". Though there are many inconsiderate types out on the water, sometimes people's kindness can surprise ya.
