Hmmm.   Off the water about 3 pm.   Tried for 3 hours this AM.   2 this afternoon.   Caught one really small one and multiple pollack.   Hit the pollack on both bait and on coho killers.   We pretty much covered the water from 20' deep to 120' with gear from 8 to 40' deep.

Hoping AKStumpy did better off the southern point.   We ran from the Lands End hotel past the condos and halfway to the can - in both brown and blue water.    One really solid takedown missed.   Dammit.

AMAZING weather today though !

Well Susan and I hit the water before 8 and fished to 11:30.   We each left the beach with a small King and lost another.    A few on and gone.   Much better than SAT.

HOPING that Kardinal and all kill em this afternoon, but we had to bail.

Susan ("Dilettante" ) said " I've been colder on the Kenai in July."   Success!

Ps.  The Simms neoprene gloves were great.

Pps.  We ended with a bit over 6 lbs of filets, going to have to make another run to keep up with consumption.

nope. we kept a small one. Ryu got slammed a couple of times. did everything right but couldn't connect. I hat the rod holders where the fish pins it down into them. going to swap him out to a folbe or maybe the Orca as suggested by Kenai Guy.

water was really murky but there were fish to be had. not just by us today.

Hit the water about the same time as akrider. Caught an 8lb King pretty early on. Couldn't manage my second one. Lost 2 nice ones for no apparent reason. (Coho killer) and released 2 shakers. Fun day, shoulders very sore. Looking forward to purchasing a peddle drive of some sort!
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

Oh...a few more things.

Last week I reported No sandlances on Friday, then full of sandlances Sunday.  This fish was loaded with small inch or two herring or smelt. I wonder where all the sandlances are?

I also had a pretty reliable source tell me to go try Anchor Point.  If it was A tad earlier, i would and see if Halibut are still around,  But I think its too exposed in winter to safely or at least from a planning perspective to give it a go.
