Sharkcatcher, what was the water clarity like? With the drying weather, I am thinking a lot of our reservoirs will be recovering from the high turbidity associated with the 15-plus inches of rain we had in December.

Water still had 0 clarity. Very, very dirty, hopefully it begins to clear soon

With the forecasted wind today I didn't want to chance being out on the lake by myself today.  I guess I'll pull my kayak in the garage and do some modding instead.

Probably wise, it was pretty windy yesterday too and I was uncomfortable, that's why I only paddled around for a while.

Can I get you to run a battery test on your Lowrance?  See how many hours you can muster out of your Anker battery from start to finish, with back light on full juice.

Oh, and maybe get a leash on your VHF?

I'll run that test for you tomorrow.  I knew there was something else I wanted to do today... darn leashes.  [emoji12]

I recall YouTube has a video of someone comparing a deeper to a conventional unit and deeper was comparable in the particular case.
However, my concern with these units are battery life. Now, instead one, you have 2 batteries to worry about. I am not sure if the little battery on the fishfinder unit can work continuously for a day.
Worse yet, the battery for deeper is not removble.

I can see this being useful if you are bank fishing to see what the depths are and what's out there, but at $130, it's a little pricey for that.
For on my kayak, I'd rather have a normal fishfinder and not have to worry about trolling around little ball behind me.  My luck, the line would break and I wouldn't notice till bluetooth connection was lost and that thing is somewhere bobbing around in the middle of the lake.   ::)

I was going to head over there tomorrow to see what it looks like.  I don't know if I will be out in the yak, I may just bank it tomorrow.  That's if we don't get iced in tonight.  [emoji6]

So Hagg Lake looked some what better today.  The lower end by the dam was still brownish but I saw lots of fish activity there.  I am guessing it was trout.  They were hitting insects on the water.  There was a bunch of them out today.  There was also a guy out on a SUP today down by the dam...

The upper end of the lake looked almost normal for this time of year.  The creek arms looked the best, pretty much green.  I'm thinking of launching out of boat ramp C tomorrow and trying the upper end of the lake and Sain Creek area.  I will have my VHF with me on channel 69 as usual if anyone wants to join me.  I will be there around 9am(ish) [emoji6]

And that right there is what you copy and tow around behind you in a really SLOOOOW erratic troll.
BiMart has a pretty good selection of small flies that would resemble that fly really well.
