 How ya'll are? (again)
Also wanted to add a way to tie off my net anchor to the side of the boat, but not sure which it is thats best. Only for very mild current (mostly wind). I'm only using a 1/4" solid braid nylon rope and 3# to 6# of rock in the net.
 Thanks

Since ther has been no reply to this question for a while I will assume nobody knows (or cares!)
I'm pretty happy with the way I'm set up now anyway.
So now what to do with a worthless thread??

Put a link to the one that sort of took the attention ... http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/bb/index.php?topic=167.0

BTW, I've never used a cam but always thought they might be difficult in a kayak.  I don't want it midship, and if I put it at the end, it looks like it would be hard to get the rope in it.

I have thought about using a clam for an anchor hold and run a rope from the clam that would be midship to the stearn through a pulley or beener for an anchor but you would be not be able to realease  it and that poses a problem.

I use a gripper cleat on both sides, just aft of my hip (just outside of my paddle stroke). Originally, I put them on because they were relatively flush (makes it a bit less unpleasant when the boat is raked over your body when it passes you in the surf) then I found that they worked really well too. I'm hoping some bright manufacturer will steal that idea and incorporate a dip on the rails of the boat for a recessed cleat.

BTW, is there any reason yall don't run your anchor trolley around the boat? Mine has always been two lines that are a little longer than the length of boat with a cheap carambieiner (sp?) on the ends. The tag end is lead through a padeye at the bow and tied to the 'beiner on the end of the other line, that line goes through a padeye at the stern and tied to the other clip.   Trolley goes down both sides and you clip the anchor line into the 'beiner and you can position the boat all the way up or down either side. (one side goes up the other side goes back) Tie off the trolley then tie off the anchor line on top of it. I use it as a deck line as well and clip off all my leashes to it. (the line not the 'beiner)

Black line is the trolley line and the yellow is the anchor or drift chute.

Fishes, Thanks for the reply. I have settled on my current set up which is basically the same as you with line fore and aft for anchor to travel.
However I added a quick clip release  near the seat so I can just reach over and squeeze the clip, and I am free of the anchor.
I use a line clip for commercial  salmon rigs ( I think thats what they are for!)
If you want to see it let me know and I'll post a pic. (I love pics)

FLOATIN, sorry for the delayed response!!
I found it posted in the rigging section under the thread "anchors" page 3. Picked upo the clip at Englund Marine but you can find 'em at any good bait and tackle. Very sweet, just a simple squeeze and you are free from the anchor to be retrieved later.. If you can't find one and have a hankerin', I can send one up to you.
