Hello NWKA from Alaska

I'm Dipo from Anchorage AK. I've been kayak fishing for 3 seasons now and love it. I used a wilderness systems kayak and now just upgraded to Hobies. Actually I am purchasing one from a fellow NWKA member and secured one of two Hobie Outback Limited Editions coming to Alaska and super excited.

I usually fish around the Homer areas for halibut and salmon. Hope to see fellow members out there.

Hello Low_sky. Thank you and welcome to Alaska. Homer king salmon derby March 19th. I believe they are excepting registrations mid January. Last years 1st place got almost $30k. This will be my first year. I'm a bit excited but have no clue what to do lol.

I read that last post three times before I figured out what was bothering me .... I'll be out of state for the King Tourney!   Ack!   Well, I am fishing the Whiskey Gulch classic for sure !

  Just go out and catch the biggest king of the day. There will be a  lot more info coming as it gets closer to that time.

No dates set yet.  I personally sponsor it and sometime soon, we will begin setting the dates!  Need more participation!!!  Likely mid to late May so we can fish both kings and butts. 
Starting to get a little weird buying trophies for myself......

We'd love to see a few of you folks up here!  I had a great time fishing with you and Mark Collett a few years back!   I need to think of some incentive to get some of the folks from down south up here!!!!  C'mon let's fish!!!
