My goals for 2016 are:
-Catch a Chinook from my kayak
-Catch a few more Lings
-Attend more NWKA events. Only made the humpy classic, but I had a blast!
-Get my fiancé a kayak, and get her interested in fishing.
-Catch more Baker Lake Sockeye
-Buy outriggers for crab season
I'm sure I'll accomplish more than just these, but it's a start!
No need for out riggers for crab season. Just spend some more time in your kayak and you should be able to pull traps without extra floatation.

Not Die.
You are getting to an age where I'd worry about that too! =)
Maybe we'll all chip in and get you one of those 'I've fallen and I can't get up' grandma devices.
=)

My goal is to go out more than last year, which shouldn't be hard since I only went out once. My other goal is to spend a whole day on the water

My goals for this year are to remember to turn the go pro on and figure out the salt water sockeye salmon bite in cook inlet.

I have put a lot of thought into this subject--- Goals For 2016.

So here are some of the more important ones.

Recover my health. This latest back/neck surgery will force me to make a concentrated effort to get back in shape enough to even be able to load up my kayak. Right now -- that would be near impossible. I tore my right bicep in September and that caused some problems reeling in kings this fall. I made it happen-- but it was not comfortable at all. That has pretty much fixed itself finally. No more "Popeye" arm. Whew......

Get my grandkids out in the kayaks more often. I love the enthusiasm kids have when they hook into big fish. There are so many new place to take them and they have so much fun--- who wouldn't want to do that more ?

Introduce and share kayak fishing with more new people. Similar to taking kids fishing-- I love to share the growth of showing a new place, fish, technique, or species to someone for their 1st time. The excitement is invigorating and refreshing to an old fart like me.

Be able to fish more HOW events and NWKA tournaments. I consider so many of you to be family. Our get togethers are kinda like family reunions without the grumpy old aunts and uncles. (most of the time)

There are several bucket list fish I would love to try for--- Black Marlin , Dorado , any billfish , Goliath Grouper, Tuna, and other exotics that don't grow up here. I'm not sure those will happen or not-- just some wish list stuff. I knew I should have bought some of those Powerball tickets...damhik.

Not fishing related -- but I plan to do a lot more chainsaw carvings this year. Even though it will be a while before I can make that happen--- it will.

Spend some time on the water with my brothers down in the Bay area. Actually I have a lot of relatives down there . I just don't like California-- too damn many people in my opinion.

And above all else--- to learn more . Not just about fishing--- but just to learn more. Even with two college degrees I sometimes feel really stupid when I think of how much there is out in this world to know. No one can know it all---- but I always want to be a sponge and soak up all that I can.

I sincerely hope we all have a great 2016 . It takes work to make it happen .Let's all keep this party going strong. Have an awesome year all.

 Mark

 Thanks Dave.....

 And catch more salmon too.

I get a little (lot) wordy with too much time on my hands.

One of my goals for 2016 was to install a fish finder on my kayak.  It's only the first month and I did it...yay!
Joined AOTY for 2016 to have some fun catching various species i've never pursued before.
Would sure like to catch a halibut from my kayak...not sure if that's in the cards for 2016...need more experience, so that probably rolls into just getting positive ocean experience on my kayak in 2016 (reading weather, surf launches, navigating to good fishing structure, having fun).

Very nice!  I think you will have fun with it.  Which fishfinder did you go with?

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

For 2016 I want to keep adding more fishing time.

I signed up for AOTY for the first time and I am looking forward to trying to catch new species from the kayak so I can have at least ten scored fish.

I have done a lot of fly fishing, but hope to add salmon and bottom fish on the fly.

Just bought my second Hobie, so I want to spend more days fishing with my wife.

Starting out cheap - Lowrance Elite 3x. If I find it useful I'll budget for something better next year.

That's great! It would be fun to fish with you guys at Pacific City (or wherever) sometime.
