Has anyone used the Daiwa Sealine X combo for sale at cabelas? I have a cabelas gift card I want to use, and this seems like a great deal! I'm looking at the 10'6" rod with the 47lc5 reel for coho and nook's in the sound. I've looked online, but it seems like there is very limited info on this model.

Those will do the job and a good deal. I know a number of people who like the Sealine reels since they're a real workhorse reel that can take some abuse and still perform. Comparable to the Shimano Triton series. If you plan to use the rod with a diver or down rigger I think the rod combo you mentioned would do well. If you wanted to mooch I'd go with something a little lighter. The 8'6" SLXPB86TM/27WLC5 combo would be sweet with 12# mono.

I saw the DR802ML earlier this year and picked up a couple.  The site says they're downrigger models, but I wanted something under 8' for the kayak I could use for lead core trolling.  Have only tried them once or twice and I'm still neutral about this application on this rod.

My reels are all left-handed and I didn't see that in the Daiwa options at the store.  So I picked up a couple Cabela's Depthmaster DM III 20LX reels.  So far I'm pleased with this reel.

Daiwa Sealine reels are the shit!!   :headbang:   Seriously, like Zee said, they are a workhorse.  I've caught lings, salmon, halibut and more on my Sealine reel.  Having a line counter is a nice feature too. Buy it, take care of it, it will pay serious dividends.
