As promised last year a trophy for Rudy.
I know a year late lets just say I was very disorganized.
This year I've done a bit more preparation should I just put kardinal on the 2016 trophy he has a tendency to repeat winning.
Take the sticker off your hat Bend the rim and go fishing!

sweet plaque!  2016 has been the year of change. the best change is that there are two to three times the participant starting with the Homer King derby.  So as much as I want to repeat, it will be a much steeper hill to climb now!!!

let's do this!!!!!

Is there an honorable mention for most graceful landing? If there is, I'm probably in the running for that. I scored a ping pong paddle with Tinkerbell too, but nothing to write home about.

And the winner is....?

That is a pretty respectable Barbie rod halibut Ryu has there. Wouldn't expect anything less from a pro. Nice work.

Hope everyone had a safe and successful day on the water.

still have tomorrow weather permitting. a tad rough today. I got "lawn darted" into the beach from 4 ft up then flipped by the next breaker. there were some spectacular landings today coming in. I can see the adrenalin rush of surfing now. haha.

Ah, I missed that it was a 2 day event. Better pay closer attention. Is Ryu in the lead after day 1?

I think so.  we left early to catch up on sleep at my parents house in Kenai.

casual prostaff attire...lol. Why pay 50 bucks for fleece at a pro shop when Walgreens has them on sale for 5 bucks

Thanks for setting this up RipnDrag. The weather didn't cooperate. Still, fishing with the Barbie (Panda in my case) rod was interesting. Most importantly, this little event brought together a great group of folks. And the prizes...awesome.

I'm actually considering getting some light tackle like that (that actually works) and playing with it out there. It was actually fun fighting an 8 pounder.

I think AK Rider has me wiping out...it'll probably be a 6 inch wave that got me. lol.

+100 to Mark Aka Ripndrag. always awesome to get together with folks. we will be down for a possible short outing later this afternoon if the weather cooperates.

Good job getting out despite the weather guys...I heard that the anchor point tractor launch shut down yesterday due to the big surf. I know the dipnetters here at the Kenai beach were getting their asses handed to them so I can only imagine what the surf was like at WG. Wish I could have been there, good job Ryu!
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.
