Hey!

Im a long time fisherman that has been watching the kayaks and thinking it would be fun to get into.

I live in Troutdale and work in Sellwood. My plan is to get a yak set up and keep it in our shop at work for some evening trips and to work my way up to some depot bay / pacific city trips !

I spent a fair amount of time white water canoeing with my dad when I was younger but have absolutely zero time in a kayak.

Been lurking here off and on for a while and decided it was time to register... get set up ... and get out on the water!

Thanks for having me  :occasion14:

Thanks!

I am open to opinions from everyone for a good yak to start out.

Looking to troll for salmon in the Willamette and Columbia and work up to some Ocean fishing as I gain experience. Would also see some lake use in the summers.

I have looked at the WS Tarpon 140 for a new boat but I was thinking of looking for something used to get started.

It seems like the Malibu X-13 that Polyangler has for sale in the classifieds might be a good option. (I am just not sure if I can get up to Lacey for a couple of weeks though). I thought that I might see if somebody has something similar in the Portland area that is similar that they are thinking of parting with???
