Zeelander, espiga, and I hit up the lower Stilliguamish River today trying for the elusive sturgeon.  It was just starting to rain as we picked up Bryce at about 1PM and the rain didn't let up too much after that.  We launched at the top of the tide.  Would love to have hit the incoming as the high approached, but I had to take the gfriend to the airport so we got a late start.  We made our way to "the spot" and anchored in a few different areas.  Not much current as the outgo was only a 2 foot exchange.  Not sure I liked this tide as I felt like we needed a bit more current.  A lot of bait stealers playing with us, and hence a lot of sand shrimp were killed.  No love on the dinos. Gotta give this some more effort in the coming months as I think there is some potential, either here or the lower Snoho.

Good try though.

one day a couple weeks ago. The day Zac and i went Salmon fishing on the Coquille river the first time we tried sturgeon fishing near the end of the day after we were tired of trolling, same thing happened to us little critters pounced on the bait and chewed it up in seconds. Killed alot of dead herrings that day. I'm really itchin' to catch something chromey, and something prehistoric.
See ya on the water..

Have you guys considered wrapping your baits in the wedding vail stretchy fabric?  Comes in red or white at most fishing stores.  Protects the baits from the baitfish.

Yeah, it seems i have brought bad luck the last time the three of have fished.  Hopefully that will change next time....MOUCHA!!!

Lot's of little hits resulted in killing lots of sand shrimp.  I think there is potential to catch on in this area, seen it happen before.
