So, I don't know how to do this, but this is my intro message.  I will admit I am brand new to kayaking, so I am looking for all the gear (kayak, paddle, the works)   Once proficient on the yak, I would like to pick up the angling part.  I heard your Classifieds had some good gear, and that is why I became a member.

Welcome Mike.  You heard correctly.  There is usually some good gear here but there's also a lot knowledge and friendly folks willing to part with that knowledge.

Hi Mike

Glad you found this place starting out in yaks - smart thinking.  I started out in sea kayaks and finally embraced plastic last year to enable fishing. I had to swallow a lot of pride to take that step, but now spend more butt-hours going slow than going fast. I'd be happy to talk boats if you have questions general or specific. If you float ideas on here before purchasing, I'm sure you'll get some useful opinions (just check site the rules about commerce - I don't know what they say).
