My son and I will be motorhomeing to your waters in Jun, he is new to saltwater kayak fishing, I'm not. I've been in contact with Rudy, and seeing as I will be there until Sep and being familiar with many of yall fromposts on NWKA, I'd really like tomeet and fish with as many of you as I can. I don't to videos or stories, just fish. Art

Welcome, Art! The Alaska Plastic Navy is getting pretty big. You should have plenty of opportunity to meet up with folks out on the water.

Welcome - My travel trailer should be on the go this summer as well, and I am hoping work doesn't get in the way of fishing too much... Look forward to meeting you both!

Sound great I'll be there fishing as much as I can. You should get yourself a Barbie pole and come to the Barbie tournament. It will be in July and would be a good chance to meet a few of us. Lookin forward to meeting you.
Take the sticker off your hat Bend the rim and go fishing!

All of you Alaska kayaker's should make a serious effort to hook-up and get to know UpNorthTex. The man does have some fishing skills, and even though he doesn't do videos --- he does have some awesome stories to tell.
The man has over 30 years in the service of our country and I have the utmost respect for him. Not only for his service--- he is one hell of a nice guy with a wry sense of humor. If you want some living history--- Art is your man.
He will probably deny any heroism--- but to me he is a fastinating man. You guys NEED to share a campfire with this HERO. You will be glad you did.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I second what Mark said.  I've been lucky enough to have fished with Art a couple of times in both big windy conditions and quiet coastal backwaters.  He's great company for either and one heck of a good kayak fisherman.  The kind who decides to roll up to Oregon from Texas for some cold salt fishing and ends up taking 2nd at the ORC against a huge field of seasoned competitors.

If you have a chance to hook up with him, take it.  You'll be glad you did.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
