Ive seen some discussion about GearHead and Screwball mounts unscrewing with a strike to the left.
Stealth makes a mount that is compatible with Scotty and Cabelas.  It offers the security of a Mighty Mount style, but without the bulk and extra fasteners.

Looks nice. Please confirm that it fits the YakAttack GT90 tracks.

Thanks!

What are the specs?  Does it lock down like the Scotty?  And what does it cost?  Nice design!

Just ordered that gear trac rod holder with the extension. Didn't see it the first time I looked at the site. Excited to see how it compares

Hmmm...I may have to replace my cutting board scotty mount which was my solution to the left side strike problem.

I might have to try these out. They look well made and appear compact.  I'm curious if they lock?

The Stealth base looks nice.  I'm going to order one.  However, I wish that Stealth's web page would confirm that its rod holders are compatible with Scotty bases, and that this two-point base is compatible with Scotty rod holders.

The base doesn't appear to be a locking base. If you put a trolling rod in a Scotty rod holder which is in a non-locking base, when you get a strike and jerk the rod out of the holder, you can pull the rod holder up out of the base. If you didn't rotate the rod holder before pushing it down into its final position, you can pull the rod holder all the way out of its base and lose it overboard.  That's why I use Scotty locking bases for my rod holders.

If the Stealth base doesn't handle your needs, it's easy to make a custom base which mounts on a gear track in the manner described in my posting at http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?topic=13167.msg144750#msg144750 .

Hey there,
Yes, our based are compatible with Scotty and Cabelas.
It is not a locking base, but it is a very snug fit and we do have the internal tab that only allows for one way in and out of the base.

Also, it works with most rail tracks. The foot size is the same as a RAM ball foot, so if that works in your system, this should work as well. Confirmed to work with GearTrac, Harmony, Native, Jackson and Hobie for sure. Also works with Yak Attak.

Also, its all Lifetime Guaranteed, just like Craftsman tools. So, if you buy it and hate it, just send it back. Or, if you ever have an issue, well send you a new one. Thanks! -Jason

Do you know if these will fit in the front trays of the Outback.  I have a four inch section of geartrack in there that I'd like to mount it to.  I was going to do mighty mounts with a Scotty mount but it's too long.

Unfortunately. I think we may be too long as well.

I believe this will fit on a 4in track:

EDIT: If you look at the 3rd picture you'll see the 2nd point of contact.

Posting on this thread because I'm curious if the converse is true.  Will the QR-1 lock into a Scotty locking base?  I'd be willing to give the QR-1 a try instead of my Scotty Orca.

I've got one mounted on my Slayer Propel 13 and it works well with my Scotty holders, it's a snug fit. Having two points of contact makes it much more stable. I really like their rod holders as well, but my heavier jigging rods don't fit. Hopefully they'll come out with a larger version soon.
