Live in the NW.

I just sold my boat(21' Trophy) and bought a Hobie PA 14.  I'm looking forward to Fishing the Columbia and joining some Kayak tournaments this year. I thought this forum would be a good resource to get started.

I'm looking forward to getting out on the water.

Michael.

I don't have a dry suit, yet. I've been looking into them. stohlquist and Kokata seem to be the top candidates. Any input?

Once outfitted, I'll take you up on your offer. I'm very interested in the Tillimook tourney.

I use a wetsuit but keep in mind I don't get cold easy.

Welcome Michael! I just picked up at Stohlquist EZ from Austin Kayak for $340 shipped, and so far I like it a lot. Keep in mind that it doesn't have any pockets like the higher end models, but it does keep you warm and more importantly dry. The EZ also has a relief zipper, and that's a necessity!  I have no experience with Kokatat, but I've heard they are top of the line. If I had the extra money, I would have probably went that route.

Dang that's a great deal for the Stohlquist EZ suit. I have a few different sizes of the EZ suits that I supply clients when guiding kayak fishing trips and clients really appreciate the comfort of neoprene neck gaskets. They're great suits!

Anyone in the market for a drysuit should consider the NWKA/HOW rig as well. Save a few bucks off a great suit and send some money HOW's way at the same time.

Welcome to the group. Nehalem bay is also nice for crabbing and trolling. Promotion wetsuits in Hood River just came out with a new suit. It's a 4 mil. farmer john with a shell top. Going to drive up and check them out.  See you on the water.

Where can I look at these rigs (NWKA/HOW)?  I've not been able to find where to look/research these suits.
