Hi everyone , i am Belorussian who trying to find someone to go fishing with to learn and to have some good time on water, been fishing from my new 2015 adventure island  on Columbia river in fall and now spring salmon, with no luck... 10-15 no fish in the net and its starting to be really disappointing to me. i watches so much videos how guys having fun and netting fish ... i guess i need to learn how to fish from a kayak and how to catch a salmon or ocean fishing... i would love to go fishing in ocean... i have all the gear to do that, but no one to go with... maybe i should sell kayak and buy a boat then! i spend 7-8k on a gear and no luck....  ???

Hey man! Thanks, yes I found you too. Yes, I am in Seattle area. Marine area 4 it is ~5 hrs drive from Seattle, I think not a good idea! How about Westport? Looks like not too far from you. Marine area 2 - it is open now for rockfish and lings. But I never been out there yet)

hey Zhenya,
there is really nice videos on you tube about bottom fishing of halibut and linkcod i will give you some good links

and this one. really explain a lot even spots for fishing, and i was actually thinking to go fishing out there, but for that if you want to go fishing on a kayak you need some kind of motor or something, i have a sail thats helps me a lot and i am considering to get one also. but there is really nice fishing out day, we can camp out day or resort offering a bad 100$ a day i think.

Hatroll - thank you! I am not sure exactly because I haven't been at these places yet. But as I know there is a limitation for bottom fishing - you cannot fish deeper that 120 ft. I guess this depth is not to far from shore. My kayak can go ~3-4 MPH so it is ~20-30 min to reach the fishing grounds - absolutely possibly for me)

You are a monster Zhenya )))) but first we have to try halibut fishing in aria 4 and some bottom fishing in pacific city, I have Dodge Ram diesel truck and a trailer so I can pick you up to go together to go that far west to the ocean. But we need to find out when it's a season and when it's a best day go in open ocean .... It could be very hazard windy days or storms)))

Hatroll - thank you) I am not sure, but looks like Westport is the best option for newbie bottom fishing, also it is only ~2 hrs drive from you and from me also. Honestly I would love to go right now, but I cannot because I do not have a fishfinder. I sent it back to Lowrance for repair/replacement. I do not know details what they are gonna to do and how soon I will get it back :(
