Thought I should make it official and register for the site.   There's a great deal of good information here, so first off, thanks to the forum.   Great resource.

Bought a 2014 Hobie Outback in the fall, and took it out for the first time in November and I have to say...the Hobie Mirage Drive is one of the coolest innovations I've seen in a long time.  Here's a quick video of me racing a friend in his bass boat on his trolling motor at full power.   He gave me the jump but that might have been a mistake!

Here's the kayak hanging above my car.   Recipe for disaster I'm sure lol.   But actually the hanger is really well made, and I've got it secured quite well into the ceiling.

I will mostly fish freshwater lakes with the outback,  and I primarily target bass (both largies and smallies around here) and pike (mostly by accident when looking for bass).   Once in a while I will go looking for musky as they're just epic.

I think I'm going to upgrade the seat using either a Jackson elite mod  or something else soon and was wondering if there's something newer that people like better or if it's still the elite? What about the elite 2.0?  I have to say the stock seat is pretty comfortable but I want to be up a bit higher. It also makes standing up and getting out of it easier being in a more upright seat  but as I say I was quite comfortable after 5 hrs in the stocker.

Since I bought it, I've added

1.  RAM ball mount and arm for FF
2.  Helix 5 DI GPS fishfinder with Navionnics+
3.  bluebrick li-ion battery (thanks to the site...great thread on battery boxes revealed the li-ion option)
4.  Ascend cart from BPS (work great)
5.  Stohlquist EZ drysuit (also great but the neck gasket takes a few minutes to get used to it)

I wouldn't mind adding a proper rod holder for trolling however for now the Hobie rod holders behind me will do.   I don't do much trolling.

Anyway, thanks again to the site and users who filled it with great info.

Good to have you around.  Can't wait to hear about your northern adventures.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.
