Launched at Cathedral around 8ish..another gorgeous day..beautiful sunrise. Fog rolled in,kind of nice to break the glare on the water. Had a couple early takedowns....one for sure that I grabbed too early...man,will I never learn? Then, total deadness for 2 hours..got desperate enough to take a few passes with 2 rods. I really was worried about getting hit on my right side...was totally sure that I was in trouble if that happened. The PB guys joined me in laughing about the possibilities that could arise if I hooked up. Bothered me enough that I put one away after a couple passes...wanted to concentrate on fishing the shallower area anyway. This wasnt working either...finally decided on a hail mary last pass with 2 rods.
Kept fishing on one rod as I was getting the 2nd ready with a lead and herring...was not paying much attention and was practically stopped when the rod hit my arm and stayed down...had to reel in some slack on the other one and put it away. Probably a good thing...she had time to hook herself without me jumping the gun. A great fight, she took line out and didnt cause too much trouble next to the boat. Also some good comments from the onlookers. Man , I love this stuff!!!

14lbs,orange flash,red helmet,anise/garlic,20fow

You can't catch a fish with an orange flasher and red helmet.  That's ridiculous!  :D
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Nice! Killer report. You are on quite a roll this year. I think the springers are really appreciating your flair this year. I've never even seen an orange flasher before.
By the way, I sat on the hook near Cedar Oak yesterday and saw the new two rod endorsement in action multiple times in the hog-line and the result was big wads of tangled nastiness. Great job getting it done successfully in the yak! Picked up my third but I'll never keep up with the notorious dberd

Congrats! I thought you told me once upon a time that these things were elusive! Ha!
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Thanks for the comments guys!
Congrats on another fish,MM! ...I'm back at work, 70 hr week, catch rate will drop significantly, lol.

Yeah, was surprised to see the array of orange flashers this year. Looking at the Shortbus line ,I noticed a lot of familiar names from ifish... (poledancer,etc.)..was surprised they were orange. Hooked me,I like orange. Bought one called "orange crush"...didn't use it yet...just made my own,lol

I've been running an orange and chartreuse Big Al's. Works for springers here and in South America.
