On an off PC not I have had reports from Dru of keeper size lings getting nailed inside the bay along the walls and one was a 41 inch off the north wall.

Lancer jigs are very fishy, but the hooks absolutely SUCK in my opinion.  If they would use something a bit more substantial and rust resistant I would buy them.  For now, I just run them if I win them, or get them in a goody bag.

These reports make me want to get back out to PC Bad!  I had a yard sale there last year coming in and I think it just adds to the adventure.  It looks like everyone got into some fish.  Lancer jigs have caught a lot of fish for me, and give our kayak fishing community support at events.  I'll still buy them.  Maybe they can upgrade the hooks?  Might want to contact Tony with your concerns?

Ok, so my report comes in the form of a video. This is my first youtube video ever, so be gentle on me. I put it at times 2 cause if i didn't the video was 20 minutes long. Only part i didn't speed up was a little surfing at the end.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzUUE1GQ2XM&feature=youtu.be

Decent amount of fish caught. 3 decent size cabezon that had to be sent back.

Enjoy folks(sorry there isn't any audio)

Great Video William.  What size Lancer Jigs were you using? Lings and Cabs seemed to love them!

I was using the 4oz copper color. I also put trailer hooks on mine that go all the way to the tip of the tail. allows for better hook up ratio.

Love the video.  Nice surfing performance!
What seat height was yours set at?  I ask because I'm shopping for an Outback and am very concerned that the seat can't be adjusted low enough to be comparable to my old 2004 Outback.  High center of gravity is a safety hazard that I won't tolerate.  I've asked about the new seat here http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=53557 , but haven't got a good answer yet.

What benefit did your aftermarket rod holder have?  Seems like you would have been better off leaving it on the beach unless you were trolling part of the trip.

Dave

the position of my seat is as low as it goes, then I lift just the front up a couple notches(if not it sits to flat).

as far as the rod holder I was trolling a bit, but I'm also new to the kayak and want to find out where I want everything. only way I can do that is test runs.
