Kayak fitted sheets (opinions on heat build up)

Was wondering what the thoughts are on having TLW custom sew two fitted COTTON sheets together to put over the boats on the trailer for this summer as there going to get a lot of use with any luck. For long term they will be in a storage unit but for multiple day weeks I want them covered as well. Only time cotton and kayak should be used together. 

Blue tarp not good 'nuf for you? Probably much better UV protection than cotton sheets...my boat doesn't show any fading after a year in the side yard...but the tarp does.

Trying to keep the heat down and likely no worries about rain on it.

Don't bother with cotton sheets, they will do nothing for you. 
Just do a tarp. Get the gray or white ones from Harbor Freight to reflect the UV.

I'll be using this from now on as my summer boat cover

There sitting on the bars upside down or downside up if your bass ackwards like me
Not sure if I need to be but I plan on adjusting the tarp so there's air flow under the boats between the trailer and the bars, should I be? I could also make a small light PVC loop like a covers wagon to hold it off the boats. What is the general opinion on heat build up? I am on the bay after all. Input? Anyone??anyone??

This is how they will be covered for summer yard storage. In the storage unit for long periods and over winter. 

Leave your hatches open or at least cracked open.  This gives the hot air inside a way to balance with nature.

That tarp will be just fine as you have it for summer storage. 

My experience with boat storage was always with a good quality canvas.  Still seems an optimal balance between cost, durability, breathability, sun and water protection.

With a plastic tarp I think a frame or spacers to allow air to move under the cover would be a good idea.
