Hey all

Just curious if anyone else has been part of a Hobie "First Cast" yak-fishing event...  I signed up for one in May for a bit of trout-fishing guidance.  Mostly because it's a good way to get some real seat-time in a Hobie, to help me decide if I am saving my pennies for that vs a Slayer Propel, but also because, well, it's fishing :)  This is one of a series put on by the gig Harbor Fly Shop.

Not a bug-wand guy, so I was planning to take my light spinning rod even tho the Fly Guys are sponsors :)  It's gonna be a little odd to get in a kayak and not checking the tides, though.  My boat's never even been in fresh water.  Something new :) have to work on figuring out tackle for that!

I participated in one (or whatever it was called then) back in 2011 or 2012 and I really enjoyed it quite a bit. The Hobie dealer that was putting it on had some great promotions for the event and it was a lot of fun to interact and be able to try all the boats at once, if you are thinking of purchasing one then be prepared as they may have some deals you can't pass up! I didn't ultimately end up doing much fishing during the event, but it was fun nevertheless, I didn't buy that day but a good friend did.
