Week long forecast shows Pacific City may be doable next Sat.  Me and my buddy are crossing our fingers.  We're both brand new to surf launching, but not kayak fishing.  Hoping we can make the maiden voyage then.  Do you guys like to fish the incoming or outgoing tide better there?

Yes and yes.... Tide doesn't make a difference to me I just prefer earlier in the morning as coastal winds get stronger as the day goes on. Be sure you have immersion gear and ASSUME you will get thrown into the surf both going out and coming in. If it holds I will be there with cs as well.

Tide may matter some BUT wind is more important to me.    Hard to jig efficiently and get on the bottom if you're being blown all over the water.   MSW forecasts can change violently over a week so keep looking regularly and even then realize that once you get to the beach it may still suck.  Have a backup plan.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Both wind and swell are looking iffy this week.  The beach is in good shape this year for launching but the ocean hasn't laid down much.

Early Mornings you get a fairly consistent southeast offshore breeze.  This makes the area between the rock and the cape a bit lumpy on a wnw swell.  It can sometimes be better a bit after sunrise until the prevailing NW winds kick up.

Next week could be good.  I might fish it next Thurs/fri.

Thanks for the replies so far guys.  I'll be watching the weather this next week.  Hopefully it works out and some of you are there so we have someone to watch launch.  Fishing won't be a problem for us.  Just excited, a little nervous for our first beach launch.

I like to fish the incoming better so I land at high tide. It makes for a shorter walk to the vehicle. ;D

If the forecasted wind holds for Saturday it's going to be too windy for my blood.... I hate looking that far ahead but what can you do  :-\
