Pedder Bay Marina near my place in Metchosin, is a decent spot with good facilities and a lake nearby for swimming. It's east of Sooke. Right in the town of Sooke, there is Sunny Shores Marina but I wouldn't recommend it as its rundown. I think there still is a provincial site up Sooke River--Sooke Potholes-- but check on the provincial site as I'm not sure about that. West of Sooke, there is French Beach Provincial campsite, with some good kayak fishing spots nearby. Further west at Jordan River, is a forestry campsite right at the river mouth with good halibut and salmon fishing.
