Earlier this week i called The Big Salmon Resort and Makah Museum to ask if the Neah Bay jetty had  re-opened. Both places stated that it was open for fishing. Yesterday (5/25) I headed out to the jetty with my dad and a friend, and when we arrive we got a nice surprise.... The jetty gate is closed! We could see people working out on the jetty landing, but we decided to take our chances to walk the road and to see if we would get turned around by them. To our amazement when we got to the landing the working just said Hi and good luck.

With that stress behind us we started hopping the rocks to get into a little deeper water, and cast out out lines. My friend John hooked into 2 keeper lings and a 3 pound sole within 5 minutes. I was super excited at that point thinking it would be a great day. About 30 minutes later my Dad caught about a 23" ling, and i still had nothing. It slowed down at this time, and went dead for about an hour. We were moving about every 10 casts then i hit the honey hole, a 26" and 25" ling back to back casts. We fishing another 30 minutes then called it a day with 5 lings.

On the trek back we ran into the group of guys that greeted us to the jetty. This time they said we better get out of there, and that there boss was pissed, so we skedaddled!

Today i took the kayak out of La Push in search of some bass and lings. Heading out about 8 AM and was back at the docks at 11 with 7 bass and 1 Cooper rock that was pushing 6.5 lbs.
