How are you carrying a fly rod during launches and landings?  I had a chance to see how surf12foot stores his - sort of.  It's snazzy, but didn't look closely enough to see how he  adapts it to rods of very different lengths, which is my issue.

How do you do it?

For launching i just have the reel toward to back of the kayak and have the rod leashed.  Before landing, since I am done fishing, I stow the reel in the hatch (rod also if it fits).  If the rod does not fit in the hatch just put a strap around it.  I strap any rods on the same side as my rod holder and fish finder, because I like one side unobstructed.

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

Thanks.  If you roll what keeps the rod from bending and breaking?  Do you tuck under bungees in rear well?

I hate trying to type on cell phone!
