Howdy all...   Next weekend I'm going up North to a family gathering at Kayak Point park, taking along both boats (plus my dive gear, plus flounder gear).  Some of the time the boats will be used for just messin' around at the park, but I want to also try for some flounder.

About a mile or so from the park, the bay turns into tidal mudflats from the mouth of the Stillaguamish.  I was thinking jigging/drifting along the edges of the flats, with a rig that seems popular and productive on the East Coast youtube channels.   Basically a weighted jig head with a Berkley Gulp 3-4" mullet, then a dropper loop about a foot above that with hook and another Gulp, and just drift across with continuous twitching of the rod tip.

I know the Nisqually delta is productive, has anyone done any floundering up there recently?  And does this rig  sound worthwhile to try out?

You'll most likely get into flounder everywhere you go. No shortage of them. Also, your setup looks good.

Hi Jim, I've done pretty well on sand sole in the mud flats a little north of kayak point. Nothing too big, but pretty easy to get fish. I usually use a weight with squid or clam necks.

Thanks guys

My brother and I are also doing a couple of tanks worth of scuba (refresher before our Cozumel trip next month!), so we may be using a submarine attack as well :)
