Working the night shift and got bored, so I decided to scroll through some old threads. I know this ones been answered pretty well already, but figured this was worth adding.

Last year when I bought my RV in Tacoma I did so with the intent of multi-day fishing excursions and other adventures. Now, the standard fridge has plenty of space for enough food for a couple of people for a few days, but the shoebox sized freezer greatly limits long-term sustainability and forget about storing any amount of fish or game meat. So, after a bit of research I found this lil fella here:

https://bensdiscountsupply.com/unique-2-2-cu-ft-capacity-three-way-propane-freezer-propane-12v-110v-portable-ugp-2-sm-grey/

I spoke to their customer service and was able to get it drop shipped to a freight depot in Tacoma from their warehouse in New York for $150. I'd searched for a closer dealer without any luck. They also wouldn't ship to AK, which would've likely been more cost prohibitive anyway.

Comes with a 120v cord already attached and if I'm somewhere where I'll be plugging the rv into shore power that's pretty convenient and saves LPG. Picked up a 6' LPG extension line so that I could reach the RV's 30 gallon tank from where I'd placed the freezer and the rest was plug and play. It takes 1x AA battery to run the igniter and thermostat otherwise it's all gas.

I vac-sealed and put several packs of rockfish and lingcod filets along with a few packages of elk generously donated by Mojo the night before I headed north and set it on gas only and everything was frozen solid by the next morning. I also was able to load up on meats and frozen veggies before the trip north.

They boast a fuel consumption rate of up to .7lb/24hrs. I'm not certain of the exact accuracy of that, but I left it running on gas at its coldest setting when I left for a 5-week work hitch. My gas gauge read 2/3 full when I left and still read the same when I got home and everything was still frozen solid.

Now all that info is a year old and the freezer is empty after transferring my most recent catch to the house, so unfortunately I don't have any pics to add, but I will hopefully after my next trip down to WG in a few weeks.

I'd venture to say that I could sustain myself comfortably for about 3 weeks on what I could fit in that freezer, or preserve a fair few limits of salmon and/or halibut (size depending) before having to transfer to a home freezer for lack of room. It's a significant investment, but has definitely proven its worth. I'll post some pics for posterity once I fill it up again.
