Hard to fish or even follow what's happening in the PNW from a couple thousand miles away.  The fish itch is back and so am I, but where to go within about an hour or so of Redmond/Sammamish WA area on Saturday 10/1?

Salt or fresh, troll/bottom/downrigger/drift/cast ... ideas welcome!

catch records are low on coho in Lake WA, but the folks at sportco said some were caught with small herring behind a flasher and a few jigging.  They do seem to be catching some trout, bass and perch.  I'm thinking about an early (7ish) put in north of the 520 bridge at the nice put-in by the park and trying for a few hours.  Was thinking about trying early with some herring and then switch to spoons or worms with spinners for trout.  Open to other ideas, but can't go too far from Kent.

Snohomish river is open for coho (limit 2) thru Sunday.  Tide will be up right at sunrise.

Ok, Coho's the target.

Think I'd be more comfortable on Lake WA than floating the Snohomish until I can buddy with someone who knows the put-ins.

Trident 13 I'll drop you a PM.

Met Dark Tuna at the excellent launch at Houghton Beach Park north of 520. The fish are there and at one point had them boiling around on top in flat water.  One friendly boat was dialed in cruising at 60-80 feet and staying 5 feet off the bottom with downriggers using orange flat fish.  I tried a u-20 left over from sockeye fishing trailing a red hook a foot behind.  4 oz. showed right near the bottom on my screen, but no luck.  Tuna stayed a bit longer than 11 but he hadn't had luck when I left.  If anyone has other tips or picks for the flat fish or other options I'd appreciate it.  These were my offerings:

Will try the green can at Nisqually Saturday as there's a high tide about noon.

Thanks, Trident 13 for the idea to fish Lake Washington for coho.  Yes, they were close but I didn't find the spot.

I spent most of my time around 45 feet on the downrigger, trying an Orange wiggle-wart, a red Pro-troll, even a Vibrax spinner and a herring. At one point I went to deeper water and dropped down to about 80 feet. Tried an 11" flasher and a couple Kone-zones.  Nada.

After T13 left I cruised at the 58-60 foot depth with the downrigger at 55 feet.  Headed in at noon.

The weather was fabulous, what a great morning to be on the water!
