Does anyone fish the Clearwater for B-runs? I've worked in Lewiston this spring and have been driving through to Pullman lately, but have yet to see someone fishing from a kayak. -jed

Hey, my son and I were fishing for steelhead from our kayaks yesterday down in front of the mill on the clearwater.  We didn't have any luck but I'm a real noob at steelhead fishing.

That's awesome Idahoduckhunter. I put the iron in the new tank at the mill. What were you using? I know guys that do well from the bank with bobber and jigs. Side drifting looks like it would work from a kayak. A few of us are hitting Cascade on Sat if you are interested.-jed

You know I'm a newb at this.  I was just trying the lighted plugs.  I think the people I saw catching them were bouncing eggs at that narrower run on the mill side at the first island.  Of course the other people were doing bobber and jig down at the confluence which sounds kind of boring to me but I'll try it one day.  I know a lot of people shore fish up a little farther at hog island using bobber and jig.  Black jig with white head is what I heard.

I've got soccer games this weekend but let's keep in touch.

I have only targeted steelhead from the kayak once so far so I'm right there with ya. I'll try to keep an eye on the run to see when the bite picks up. It's a four hour drive from here, but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot when chances improve. -jed

Picking up a new Revo in Lewiston Tuesday next week and plan on taking it out for a troll in search of steelhead on the Clearwater. I'll let you know how I do.
